Mum's View

First of 3 panorama embroideries from sketches I drew with mum in hospital. Together they form the view from her bed. I completed 2 sketches and started the 3rd one Sunday that I spent all day with her. A bright sunny day with clear skies. She lived to see the start of the sewing. I expect each one of the sketches to take a year to complete in embroidery. They are large samplers using many stitch types.

One of my earliest embroideries, although I do remember making some before this. Birthday card for mum I made when I was 11. She kept it all this time. It represents the house that was 'the only thing' she could draw.
Coronation cushion
Part of the Anne Stokes Celebration package. Custom "A S" ligature typography design, hand embroidered and hand made piping. Styled on the real coronation cushion used most recently for Charles III in 2023, as Anne uses such imagery and symbolism in her artwork.
