The beginnings: A new perspective
My art journey began in 2019, shortly after I moved into a top floor flat. The breathtaking 30-mile views on clear days ignited a creative spark, prompting me to pick up a paintbrush for the first time since my school days. This new perspective, overlooking an area I'd known all my life, felt like coming home and truly inspired me. The following year, as society faced unprecedented changes, I moved in with my mum. During shopping trips along the coast, I found the time and focus to truly appreciate the beauty close to home.
Crafting heritage: Simple tools, endless possibilities
With a long-standing interest in history and heritage, I've always admired the skills of those who practice heritage crafts. Once restrictions eased, I volunteered at my local steam railway, repairing carriage seats using traditional upholstery techniques and materials. This experience fascinated me, particularly how design can evolve with such simple tools. It taught me that any problem can be overcome without screens or even electricity, focusing purely on skill and ingenuity. My interests continued to expand as I researched various art subjects I wished to depict, including both architecture and clothing.
Inspiration and unique creations
My designs are deeply rooted in the beauty of British landscapes, historical architecture, and the intricate details of vintage clothing. I draw inspiration from the tactile nature of traditional crafts, aiming to bring that same sense of authenticity and timelessness to my digital and physical creations. What makes my creations special is offering pieces that are both unique and imbued with a story.
